About our guest:
Chris Baggott is the founder of Tyner Pond Farm in central Indiana, a regenerative farm his family started more than 16 years ago with the goal of restoring health to the land and to people through better food and better farming.
Before farming, Chris built a career in software and other businesses. That background still shapes how he thinks about food systems, but his work at Tyner Pond Farm is rooted in something more basic: animals on pasture, healthy soil, local accountability, and a direct relationship between farmers and the families they serve.
Tyner Pond Farm raises 100% grassfed and grass-finished beef, pasture-raised chicken, and eggs using managed grazing and pasture rotation. Over the years, the farm has grown into one of the larger grassfed cattle operations in the Midwest while staying focused on direct-to-customer sales and transparent sourcing.
Chris is also working on FarmersMarket.com, a national food platform built around identifiable producers, not anonymous commodities. His view is that food should not just be labeled as beef, pork, chicken, or salmon. Customers should know whose beef, whose pork, whose chicken, and whose salmon they are buying.
His work sits at the intersection of regenerative agriculture, local food, software, and the question of how to build better markets without losing the personal relationships that make good food systems trustworthy.
