Innovations in Agriculture: AgraGene and USDA’s New World Screwworm Grand Challenge
In this episode, Brownfield’s Meghan Grebner sits down with Stephanie Gamez, Research and Develop lead, and Matt Helms, the marketing lead for Agragene to talk about the company’s precision-guided sterile insect technique that delivers healthy, sterile may flies that are needed to address New World screwworm. Agragene was one of the companies selected to receive funding from the USDA’s Grand Challenge and the Foundation for Food & Agriculture Research. Both grants are designed to facilitate additional research on the company’s novel insect sterility technology.
